Facilities: Our
camp is located at Fork Retch Refuge and
is comprised of 57 acres on the edge of
the Little Pee Dee River. Our facilities
include two 15 bed lodges for the boys and
a 20 bed lodge for the girls. We also have
a fully stocked kitchen, picnic shelter,
first-aid building, separate quarters close
to the campers' lodges for counselors.
Regulations: Every camper must be loyal to camp regulations. We require modest
clothes in good taste. Tobacco, drugs, alcohol,
pornography and profanity are prohibited.
Campers may NOT bring radios, televisions,
electronic games, knives, guns, fireworks,
food or cell phones. The directors reserve
the right to refuse admission or dismiss any
camper who in their opinion is an undesirable
companion for others. Wildlife Action reserves
the right to take away any items that may
disrupt camp. Your signature gives us permission
to open all parcels.
Spirit Night: Thursday night at overnight camps is Spirit Night. On Spirit Night
you may visit your child beginning at 6:00
pm at the Flag lowering ceremony and join
them for a presentation
at 7:00 pm. But remember no child may leave
before Friday at 10:00 am.
Refunds: Fees will be refundable if we are notified of withdrawal in writing
two (2) weeks prior to camp starting date
less a $50 processing fee. After that time,
fees will be put into our scholarship fund.
What to Bring: Casual, comfortable modest clothing is best. Also make sure to
bring: 1 pillow and pillowcase, 2 sleepwear,
8 t-shirts and shorts, 2 swimsuits,
8 underwear and 8 pairs of socks, 3 pairs
of shoes, 2 washclothes and 5 towels, 1 laundry
bag, 1 raincoat/poncho, 2 pair of pants,
bathrobe, plastic cup, canteen/water bottle,
sleeping bag, toilet articles, and fan (window or box fan).
Other suggestions: flashlight,
books, stamped home-addressed envelopes,
postcards, camera and film, school style
backpack, bug spray, sunscreen, and fishing rod and
reel. We also suggest bringing $25 for Trading
Post and Canteen money to be deposited in
our camp bank. All un-spent money will be
refunded at the end of camp. Please have your camper at camp by 3:00 pm for check in time.
Telephone: The camp phone is for business only. We do not allow camper phone
calls due to disruption of schedule and the
negative effect on camper morale. Please
trust our experience on this.
