What
is Wildlife Action Adventure Camp?
It is a week of outdoor experience to raise awareness about conservation of our
natural resources, nurture appreciation of
wildlife, and teach stewardship of the good
earth. Each summer we invite children ages
6-14, to experience a variety of Adventure
Camps at Fork Retch Wildlife Refuge and Resource
Education Center in Mullins, SC.
Facilities: Our
camp is located at Fork Retch Refuge and
is comprised of 57 acres on the edge of
the Little Pee Dee River. Our facilities
include two 20 bed lodges for the boys and
a 20 bed lodge for the girls. We also have
a fully stocked kitchen, picnic shelter,
first-aid building, separate quarters close
to the campers' lodges for counselors.
Regulations: Every camper must be loyal to camp regulations. We require modest
clothes in good taste. Tobacco, drugs, alcohol,
pornography and profanity are prohibited.
Campers may NOT bring radios, televisions,
electronic games, knives, guns, fireworks,
food or cell phones. The directors reserve
the right to refus admission or dismiss any
camper who in their opinion is an undesirable
companion for others. Wildlife Action reserves
the right to take away any items that may
disrupt camp. Your signature gives us permission
to open all parcels.
Spirit Night: Thursday night at over night camps is Spirit Night. On Spirit Night
you may visit your child beginning at 6:00
pm at the Flag lowering ceremony and join
them with a picnic supper provided by WLA
at 6:15 pm prior to the formal presentation
at 7:00 pm. But remember no child may leave
before Friday at 10:00 am.
Refunds: Fees will be refundable if we are notified of withdrawal in writing
two (2) weeks prior to camp starting date
less a $50 processing fee. After that time,
fees will be put into our scholarship fund.
